Caribou’s Greatest Threats

Today I have a photo in the New York Times illustrating the latest work by the University of Washington’s Center for Conservation Biology in the oil sands area of Alberta, Canada.

Read the article in the NYT:

It seems that, once again, humans and human activity, such as roads and environmental exploitation, are more of a threat to large ungulates than wolves.

The Conservation Canines of the Center for Conservation Biology are providing much needed data that gives a more accurate picture of what is happening to Caribou and Wolves.

Wilderness Society 2010 Annual Report

For years I have supported The Wilderness Society’s mission to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for our wild places. This year my image of mountain goats in Glacier National Park is the cover of TWS’s 2010 annual report.

Just Announced! Canadian Rockies Small-Group Workshop

Art Wolfe Canadian Rockies Workshop August 2011 – Images by Art Wolfe

August 14-20.
XRite Gets the scoop. Thank you Brenda Hipsher!
As you may have heard this weekend on the XRite Coloratti Blog, I am offering a new workshop experience in August in the Canadian Rockies. This photographic workshop is sure to be one of the most unique and special of the year. This is open to a maximum of only 4 participants.  I will be assisted by a veteran colleague, Gavriel Jecan, and Chris Martin, an excellent Alberta photographer that knows this territory very well.  You need only show up in Calgary, Alberta ready to begin the workshop on August 14th and we take care of all the rest.
Because the class size is so small, you may not find any more detail on our website describing this workshop, so please call for more information.

In Washington, call 206-332-0993 or toll free 888-973-0011.

If these dates don’t work and you are interested in taking a specialized small-group photographic workshop with Art Wolfe, give us a call and let’s design something.

Merci Montréal!

BLOG: Montreal May 2011 – Images by Art Wolfe

Last weekend I was in Montreal to give my presentation of “Between Heaven and Earth” for Photo Life magazine. It’s a beautiful city and I spent a few moments relaxing and photographing families and kids playing in the fountains of Place des Festivals.
