Art Wolfe is the Recipient of The Mountaineers Adventure With Purpose Award

This year I was honored to be awarded The Mountaineers Adventure with Purpose award. The Mountaineers is a long-standing organization who’s purpose is to connect people to the natural world as well as to one and other, and to enjoy nature while also striving to protect it.

On April 26th, I was presented with the award at The Mountaineers annual gala, and epic evening of friends, food, and an incredible fundraising auction. More than $585,000 was raised for initiatives across branches and activities, including nonprofit publishing, adult programming, youth outreach, scholarships, volunteer leadership development, conservation advocacy, and more.

I was also pleased to meet fellow VIP guest Sasha DiGiulian. Sasha is a United Nations Mountain Partnerships Ambassador, prolific climber and powerful advocate for defending our natural world.

It was a fantastic evening at Fremont Studios here in Seattle. Their technology made for an incredible presentation, and the Mountaineers organizers did an amazing job providing such a unique and enchanting evening for everyone involved. I met several fans and was happy to share an evening with them and sign books. It was revitalizing after a busy 2025 travel schedule.

You can view a video of the Gala here. For more information about The Mountaineers, the Gala, and more photos from the evening, click the links below!

Raleigh, NC – Art Wolfe Presents WILD LIVES in June 2nd!

Art Wolfe Presents WILD LIVES in Raleigh, NC on June 2nd at 7PM

We are just over a week away from my WILD LIVES presentation in Raleigh, North Carolina! Books will be available for purchase, and I’ll be signing copies. More importantly, I’ll be taking a deep-dive into the stories and strategies behind a lifetime of wild life photography and international travel.

As someone who’s spent their life photographing wildlife around the globe, I feel I’m well-suited to comment on the changes I’ve seen in the flora and fauna of places I’ve revisited several times over the years; a list that continues to grow with each new trip. While I strongly advocate continuing to find ways to lessen mankind’s impact on the natural world, WILD LIVES seeks to present animal success stories.

As we continue our struggle to evaluate mankind’s impact on our environment, populations for many species are on the rise as they reconcile their co-existence with humans. It was my goal with WILD LIVES to celebrate these successes. The news isn’t all bad! Perhaps there are lessons we can take away from these animals that have weathered the storm of sharing our planet with a species that is capable of inhabiting nearly every environment on the planet.

We’ll have a limited supply of books on hand that I’ll be signing. I hope to see you in Raleigh on June 2nd!

Art Wolfe Presents WILD LIVES in Seattle Tomorrow, Portland 12/12!

*Art will also be featured on Seattle’s Evening Magazine program tonight at 7:30 local time on King 5*

Wild Lives is published, books have been signed and are on their way out for the holidays! In an era where everything is going digital, there’s nothing quite like the process of working to create a book and seeing the images collected on the tangible printed page. This is always the case when creating a book, but never so apparent as this experience with Wild Lives.

I’ll be giving a presentation on Wild Lives in Seattle tomorrow, December 7th at 7 PM at the Center for Urban Horticulture. Very few spaces remain to come and hear many of the stories behind the photos. Books will be available for signatures!

If you’re closer to Portland, I’ll be headed there on Tuesday the 12th to give this presentation and signing books as well at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). There’s a little more space available in this one, but it’s still limited so grab your tickets now If you’d like to go – or you can’t make the Seattle presentation!

The link below will take you to the Wild Lives events page to purchase tickets. See you there!

Art Wolfe Presents: Night On Earth in Portland May 12th!

In less than a month I’ll be heading down the I-5 to Portland to share my Night On Earth presentation with friends and fans from all around the Pacific Northwest at the Portland Art Museum. After a month of travel from South America, Morocco, Spain, and Jerusalem (phew!) it will be nice to be back in the familiar confines of Oregon.

If you’ve never been to an Art Wolfe event, now is your chance! Space is available to come and hear me speak about my most recently published book – Night On Earth – and hear the stories behind the photographs and locations. If you HAVE been to an Art Wolfe event, you know what you’re in for – plenty of photos and lots of fun banter.

With more time spent at home during the production of this book, I’ve been able to create a stunning presentation that highlights the travels, preparation, and insights that went into each and every image. From anecdotes about the shots I was lucky enough to grab serendipitously without much planning at all to those that required months of both myself and my staff preparing for just the right moment, I can promise you won’t come away feeling underwhelmed.

Join Art Wolfe at Seattle Town Hall December 7th!

I’ll be LIVE in Seattle next week for another talk at Town hall Seattle – this time discussing my new book Night On Earth – and I’m thrilled to be joined by Ruskin Hartley of the International Dark-Sky Association. Ruskin is an expert on the subject of light pollution and the efforts to preserve the deep, dark night skies that allow us to view the heavens and the trillions stars that surround us – among many other conservation efforts!

The International Dark-Sky Association and Town Hall Seattle Present Art Wolfe with Ruskin Hartley – A glimpse of night’s mysteries, in photographs – next Tuesday, December 7th At 7:30 PM.

Town Hall Seattle – The Forum
1119 8th Ave (Entrance off Seneca St.)
Seattle, Washington 98101

Nighttime is wonderfully mysterious, beautiful, and full of a certain kind of energy — and most of the time, we diurnal humans sleep right through it. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you could not only stay awake for it all but also peek in on what’s happening at night across the entire planet?

In his newest book, Night on Earth, acclaimed photographer Art Wolfe gives us a glimpse of nature, animals, and human activity on every continent, after the sun goes down. Blazing sunsets over Antarctic ice. Night markets pulsing with activity in Morocco. Glittering star trails over the Australian outback. Colonies of penguins awaking to the dawn. Wolfe reveals it all through a dazzling compilation of photos that Sir David Attenborough calls “…a suburb evocation of some of the most breathtaking spectacles in the world.”

Wolfe takes the Great Hall stage to present slides and share stories of his travels, the process of creating the book, and the fine art of picture-making at night.

Art Wolfe is an American photographer and conservationist, best known for color images of landscapes, wildlife, and indigenous cultures. His photographs document scenes from every continent and hundreds of locations, and have been noted by environmental advocacy groups for their stunning visual impact. Wolfe has created millions of images in his lifetime and travels nearly nine months out of the year photographing for new projects, leading photographic tours and seminars, and giving inspirational presentations.

Ruskin Hartley is the CEO and Executive Director at The International Dark-Sky Association, where he champions equitable access to dark skies and quality lighting for all through IDA’s award-winning programs. Prior to his position with IDA, Ruskin directed and managed conservation programs that protect land, water, and ocean resources. He has served as executive director of Save the Redwoods League, as president and CEO of Heal the Bay in Los Angeles, and as vice president of resource development at Fair Trade USA.

Night On Earth – Published Today!

I’m excited to announce that today is the official publishing date for my latest book, Night On Earth! I set out to create a book that not only encompasses night photography of stars, cultures, animals and more – but also explores the margins of the night at both dusk and dawn. I wanted to capture the buzz of activity, the glow of the heavens, the lights of cities – all of the things that only reveal themselves when daylight gives way to darkness.

I’m incredibly happy with the way this book turned out as far as image quality, and the authors we worked with to make it a complete package. Included is a forward from Executive Director of the International Dark-Sky Association Ruskin Hartley, and an introduction by award-winning New Yorker staff writer David Owen.

Order your signed copy today! If you pre-ordered, your books will be on the way as soon as I can sign them. If you’re near the Seattle area I’ll be giving a Night On Earth presentation in just a few weeks on December 7th at Town Hall. Ruskin will also be joining me for this event as we talk about light pollution, how it affects each and every one of us – and what’s being done to minimize our human impact on the night sky.
