Meet the Artist night at The Natural Wonders Gallery – Images by Art Wolfe
On Monday I was in Las Vegas to sign Human Canvas prints for the new Natural Wonders Gallery opening in New York. Later the gallery hosted a Meet the Artist reception. Many thanks to the gallery staff for setting this up and all the people who attended.

Last weekend I was given the Lifetime achievement award by the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA). These are people that believe in the things I hold dear and we recognize that preserving the beauty of nature is a labor of love.
Countless thank yous to the members for their support and for recognizing my work. It was a great honor and a lot of fun.

Japan: Steller’s Sea Eagles & Whooper Swans – Images by Art Wolfe
Hokkaido is glorious in the winter. The starkly beautiful landscapes are punctuated with active and athletic wildlife. I have been wanting to photograph the magnificent Steller’s sea eagle for years, even decades, and finally, finally was able to on this trip!

The Japanese have the corner on cute. The snow monkeys are always a treat and great subjects to photograph.
We are just starting out on this workshop and look forward to the many sights of Japan ahead.
Join three nature photography masters, for a unique weekend of photographic inspiration.
Three of the world’s most renowned nature photographers–Frans Lanting, Thomas D. Mangelsen, and Art Wolfe–have teamed up to present a series of unique weekend events that will change the way you look at photography and what you can do with your own camera.
Frans, Tom, and Art will draw from their wide-ranging experience with subjects and locations around the world to inspire attendees, show them new ways to see, give them tools to create more compelling images, and empower them to use photography to benefit conservation causes and other personal interests. The Human Canvas: Traditional Thai Tattoo – Images by Art Wolfe
Tattooing is an ancient art & in Thailand it started with Buddhist monks, who believed sacred texts gave them protection. Thai icons such as tigers are now very popular, but are not powerful unless they are surrounded by the proper mantras.
