Hot on the heels of Wild Elephants, I’m excited to announced that the trade edition of Human Canvas is officially published as of today! I’ve forever been fascinated by the traditions and rituals of indigenous people world wide, and as a visual storyteller whom seeks to discover metaphors and relationships in my subjects, the practices of body painting have long been fascinating to me.
In creating the Human Canvas Project, my goal has been to combine the aesthetically complicated form of the human body with the elements of design to create images that are both interesting and immersive upon first glance and rewarding to those who linger longer. Art is subjective, and I truly believe this book has something to offer everyone.
This book build upon the images contained in the luxuriously packaged and printed Human Canvas Collector’s editionwith more images and plates in an affordable package that retains the quality of materials that photo book collectors will appreciate.
Purchase Human Canvas today for yourself or a holiday gift for the artist and photographer in your life!

C is for Coyote, written by Andrea Helman and with photographs from myself and Gavriel Jecan has been published this week and is available for purchase in my online store! This 32-page board book utilizes photos of animals and unique places from the south western United States to teach the alphabet to young readers.
Photographs from the Edge is a stunning and intimate behind-the-scenes guide to the experiences, decisions, and methods that have influenced forty years of stunning images captured around the world. Legendary photographer Art Wolfe and co-author Rob Sheppard transport readers on a global journey, while carrying on a dialog about photography, tools and process, world travel, close calls, and photographic opportunities both taken and missed.
From the explosive drama of a volcanic eruption in Iceland to the poignant moment of a tiny sea turtle hatchling scuttling to the ocean, Photographs from the Edge is a lifetime of experience distilled into a rich photographic education. Many of these photographs can never be duplicated as cultures and landscapes are transformed and wildlife diminishes or disappears all together. No matter his subject, Wolfe regales us with the stories behind the photographs and helps us experience life on the world’s most unique photo safari.
“Art Wolfe has spent a career mixing his passion for artful photography and his passion for the diversity, nature wonder, and humanity of our world. With this collection we enjoy a grand tour of our world as only Art Wolfe can bring us. In a way, you could call Art the ultimate tour guide.”
– Rick Steves, travel writer and public television host

In April I will be releasing my 99th published work,Migrations: Wildlife in Motion. Inspired by the imaginative spatial designs of Dutch artist M.C. Escher, I traveled the globe in search of similar patterns in nature. The result is a book of remarkable wildlife images that captures both the beauty and the poignancy of animals on the move. Migrations: Wildlife in Motion (Earth Aware Editions, April 6, 2016, $35 hardcover) draws the reader into the energy, motion, and enduring spirit of life on the planet. The stunning images capture the delicate balance of our ecosystem, conveying the primordial stirrings that prompt a flock of snow geese to head south, monarch butterflies to bejewel a forest, or a colony of Indiana bats to snuggle in tight hibernation.
I am very excited about this release and loved working once again with Earth Aware/Insight Editions – their printing is always top quality.
The new book will be available for purchase and signing at this event, and is also available for pre-order on our online store. I hope to see you there!
