Whether you’re a seasoned photographer seeking to refine your skills, a beginner eager to embark on a photographic journey, or a wildlife enthusiast who can’t get enough of the beauty and diversity of the natural world – I’ve got you covered! At this point in my career I’ve had over one-hundred-and-something books published, and my own personal library is filled to the brim with art, photography, and travel books from across the globe. I am very much a book lover both as a consumer and as someone who simply loves seeing a body of work come together.
Photo books make excellent gifts to both give and receive. With each turn of the page, you’ll find yourself embarking on a new adventure. Whether it’s a trek through the lush rainforests of South America, an exploration of the diverse African cultures, or an exploration of a subject from around the world such as the award winning Night On Earth– there truly is something for everyone.
If you’re seeking inspiration to fuel your passion for photography, several of my “how-to” books are an invaluable resource, while those that emphasize the narrative behind the captures such as Photographs From the Edgego beyond the technicalities, delving into the art of storytelling through your lens.
Now is also a great time to pre-order a signed copy of my upcoming magnum opus entitled WILD LIVES: The Worlds Most Extraordinary Wildlife. This is a big, beautiful book full of a lifetime of wildlife photography from every corner of the planet, and I can’t wait until I’ve got it in my hands!
What are you reading these days? Or are you like me and more interested in pretty pictures!? All the books on my online store purchased through the weekend come with free shipping in the continental US!
Happy Friday! I begin October on the road for a month of travel, and when I return home I’m gong to be VERY busy putting signatures to my new books that have been pre-ordered though my website. We’ve obtained our advance copies of both Wild Elephants and the trade edition of Human Canvas– and both are of the highest quality and look fantastic! If you have held the equally fantastic and award winningTreesbook that was published last year, you know what to expect.
Wild Elephantsnot only features the greatest elephant photos of my career, but also includes text by Dr. Samuel Wasser that describes the issues and most importantly the solutions being employed to protect elephant species in Africa and Asia.
Human Canvasfocuses on combining photography with body painting inspired by the many cultures I’ve encountered around the globe, bringing you a mixture of patterns and textures influenced by the indigenous peoples I’ve encountered on my travels.
Order your copies of Wild Elephants and Human Canvas today to guarantee you receive a signed copy when they are available in the coming weeks!
First published in English, TREES Between Earth & Heaven is now available in Italian and German as well. While I always recommend that you support your local bookseller, here are online links for purchasing:
Today is the official publishing date in the U.S. for Trees: Between Earth and Heaven. Back home in Seattle, we’ve been sending out early signed copies for the past couple weeks – so if you may be the lucky ones to have pre-ordered from us, you either have it or it’s on it’s way! There’s no other way to put it – it’s a beautiful 11×14 nearly 300 page book that exceeds even my demanding expectations, and feedback from those whom have received their copies affirms this!
Of course, a book about trees is naturally a book about our environment. Rest assured that in coordination with Roots of Peace, two trees are planted for each tree used in the manufacturing of these books.
To get your copy, and to support a local small business and the work that makes these books possible, you can order your copy from us in my online store, or from your local bookseller. Alternatively, there’s always this option!
Time is running out to receive exclusive bonuses with your purchase of TREES: Between Earth and Heaven! Pre-order before the 29th for these additons to what is a gorgeous and comprehensive book of many of the world’s great trees. Each copy sold benefits Roots of Peace, so not only will you get a beautifully printed book singed by yours truly along with an 8 x 10″ print, personally packaged with care by my staff – you’ll also be supporting the great cause of creating sustainable, vibrant flora world-wide.
Today is Arbor day, a wonderful occasion to celebrate the significance of trees world-wide. The importance of trees both in terms of their impact on habitats and cultures can’t be stated enough but often goes overlooked. Check out arborday.org for more info on what you can do to participate this weekend!
This is also a good time to mention my newest upcoming book which has been available for pre-order for a few weeks. It’s called “Trees: Between Heaven and Earth“, and it will be available this fall. It’s full of beautiful photos of trees from around the world and details their beauty and contributions to habitats, cultures and much much more.
There are sample pages to check out on my online store, and don’t forget that all pre-orders through the site will be signed by yours truly before being sent your way!
Have a wonderful weekend, get out there and plant something!
Following up the important and successful Remembering Elephants, Margot Raggett is back with Remembering Rhinos! The Kickstarter is now live and I’d love you all to check it out at and consider giving us your support. Along with many of the top wildlife photographers in the world, I am delighted to be donating an image to this important project. The Kickstarter will pay for the print run, and all subsequent sales of the book will go to anti-poaching initiatives via Born Free.
The Remembering Elephants book project not only produced a beautiful coffee table book; it also raised nearly $170,000 for this important cause. Complete your set, or create one instantly with one of the donation levels that includes both books. Remembering Rhinos is scheduled to be available before the holiday season in 2017 and what better gift for the nature, wildlife, or photography enthusiast than a thoughtful gift that benefits the continued fight to preserve wildlife?
Two exciting bits of news today for those of you in New York and across the pond in the U.K.!
Limited spots still remain available for my Photography As Art Seminar in New York City this Sunday. During this day-long seminar you’ll learn from my lifetime of experience and interest in treating photography as an artistic medium how to create compelling and creative shots wherever you happen to be in the world, including your own back yard. Maximizing the artistic and creative opportunities of capturing images has always been a priority in my work, and I look forward to sharing my insights and experiences with you!
I have attended several other Art Wolfe workshops in the past and have always learned something new. The Photography as Art Workshop in Denver was no different! I am by inclination a nature photographer, but Art’s presentation was much more than just nature photography. It was truly inspiring, and will have a significant impact on my photography in the future. Art’s message truly hit home for me. I would recommend the Photograph as Art Workshop to anyone with a serious interest in photography.
Encompassing a variety of subject matter from endangered animals, landscapes, and cultural events, Photographs from the Edge is a collection of images from my travels around the world accompanied with the technical information involved as well as my approach to the creative concept behind each shot.
