Earth Day arrives tomorrow, April 22nd and you can celebrate by visiting your local national parks for a fee-free day. With over 400 national parks and one in each state, there’s likely at least one near you. . . get your camera gear ready and head out for some photos and fresh air!

They teach us about ourselves and the world around us, and invite us to continue to learn, grow, and explore. National Park Week is a time to reflect on what parks mean to us, enjoy what they provide to their visitors and communities, and commit to protecting these places we cherish.
The National Park Service turns 100 today, and everyone can take part in the celebration! The centennial will kick off a second century of stewardship of America’s national parks and engaging communities through recreation, conservation, and historic preservation programs.
The National Park Service will be offering free admission to all 412 National Parks for their birthday weekend,Thursday August 25th through Sunday the 28th!

The USPS has revealed the last preview of their collection of 16 new Forever Stamps commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service. The first-day-of-issue ceremony will take place on June 2nd at Javit’s Center in New York City at 11 AM during the once a decade World Stamp Show, which runs from May 28th through June 4th and promises to be a can’t-miss event for stamp collectors from across the globe.
Get out to your National Parks the week of April 20-28, 2013 for a dose of reality, a breath of fresh air and a good view of our tax dollars at work. Entrance fees are waived from Monday, April 22 to Friday, April 26. The parks are inviting you to experience all they have to offer.
