Facebook Reverses Course
Facebook announced that it has reverted to it’s old terms of service. Even the old terms give them too many rights over one’s photographs. I intend to use Facebook only for communication from now on, not to post images. And again, we all must play lawyer and read the terms carefully before uploading anything copyrighted.
i think they saw your previous blog and decided to change their terms of service 🙂
I hope I can restrain my ego.
Thanks to everyone for their support on this issue.
Thanks Art… Very useful information. I have a habit of not reading terms.
Art,
Thanks for the update. Just when you think you’ve heard it all…

Hi Art, I just joined Facebook and started loading some pics there. I didn’t read the terms, but will now and will probably remove most (or all) of them. Thanks so much for the heads-up.
Love your PBS series! Thanks for that, too.
Peace, Judi
Thank you Art, good information. I am a fan of your work and I have all the DVD of Travels to the EDGE, Greetings.
Thanks for the update Art!
Thanks for the information – I had no idea of these terms. I think it’s time to play with photoshop’s watermarking feature.
Hi Art, Thanks so much for your opinions on Facebook. I’m appalled that our society has fostered companies with the attitude that our creativity is up for grabs. It’s so easy to just sign up without reading the fine print. Maybe this will be a lesson to us all to pay close attention and not become lethargic, believing others hold our rights as dear as we should.
