Every spring humpback whales migrate across the North Pacific from Hawaii to Southeast Alaska. In Southeast Alaska, a labyrinth of islands and channels to create a tremendously rich marine environment supporting a vast variety of animal life including tens of millions of tiny krill, the primary source of food for the summer in humpbacks. Here, humpbacks engage in what is referred to as bubble net feeding.
