African elephant herd, Mashatu Reserve, Botswana
As elephants move toward a waterhole they are sidelit by the sun. All but one of the elephants is on a well-worn path; they are creatures of habit and quite predictable–they will follow the same path at the same time of day. The next day we were at the same location and the elephants came through within half an hour of the previous day.
